About me

After studying in Frankfurt am Main, Munich, and Leicester, I returned to Cottbus in 2022. On one hand, it means feeling at home, connecting with family, immersing myself in Lusatian culture and history, and contributing to Cottbus’ energy. On the other hand, my years abroad in civil society and multicultural environments have shaped me. Knowing the needs and standards of other regions, I understand what Cottbus needs to radiate attractiveness both externally AND internally. The variety of cultural offerings in Cottbus is already impressive, but there is still potential to expand entertainment options for young people and young adults. I aim to promote low-threshold activities in public spaces, especially outdoors, in the city council.

Cultural life and offerings alone cannot be seen as a strong enough factor to attract newcomers, but they are important for encouraging locals to stay or return. The trends of the time affect the city, especially Cottbus’ youth, so it is necessary to provide connections for them.

Change does not automatically mean selling out. Lusatia can remain Lusatia, with Cottbus as an inclusive and highly livable center. This is the goal of my volunteer and political engagement.
